The former Inn at the Royal Łazienki will become more environmentally friendly. A project of thermal improvement will start this year owing to funding from the European Funds granted to the Museum by the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management.

An agreement for funding of a thermal upgrade of the former Inn was concluded on 14 February 2017. The project is worth PLN 1.2 million, including PLN 606 000 from the European Funds granted by the National Fund for Water Management and Environmental Protection.

The thermal upgrade of the former Inn is yet another investment at the Royal Łazienki, which is implemented thanks to funding from the National Fund for Water Management and Environmental Protection. It is the second project that will be launched this year as part of the EU Operational Programme Infrastructure and Environment. The programme will provide funding for conservation and renovation works to be carried out in the White Pavilion and the Water Tower, as a result of which the buildings will regain their former splendour.

The former Inn is a building situated at the intersection of Agrykoli, Szwolażerów and Myśliwiecka streets. It was erected in the early 1770s, and in the second half of the 19th century, it underwent a major alteration. It functioned as an inn, also known as "Austeria".

The works which will be performed in the Inn in 2017 and 2018 will include: roof insulation, replacement of the window and door carpentry, modernisation of central heating and water heating systems, and replacement of the lighting system with an energy-efficient one.

The former Inn will thus become more environmentally friendly. The building will consume less energy and its need for non-renewable fuels for heating and lighting will be reduced. Renewable sources of energy will be used, i.e. solar energy from photovoltaic panels. This will decrease the operating costs of the Museum and the level of emission of pollutants into the atmosphere. As a result of the project, the aesthetics and functionality of the former Inn will be improved as well.
