Rex fox
Vulpes vulpes
The fox is the largest mammal living in the Łazienki gardens. It is a predator which definitely doesn’t need to be fed by humans. Most often it feeds on pigeons and tiny mammals thus regulating their numbers. It is sometimes successful in hunting for larger prey. The area of the Łazienki gardens is sufficient to form the habitat for one reproducing pair of that species. Every year, we can see young foxes which, after attaining a suitable age, move away in search of their own territories to live.
