Common noctule
Nyctalus noctula
The common noctule is the most numerous bat in the park of the Royal Łazienki and one of the largest Polish bats. Few are aware of the presence of these flying mammals in our gardens, and even less know that the common noctule successfully reproduces here. It can be seen after dusk between the Upper Southern Pond and Lower Southern Pond, and on the bridge on the Southern Channel. Sometimes you need to listen out closely as it produces very loud sounds. It is a strictly protected species.
