Eurasian blue tit
Parus caeruleus
The Eurasian blue tit is one of the most beautiful tits occurring in Poland. In males especially, a beautiful deep blue (cornflower blue) colour contrasts with yellow. Although the Eurasian blue tit is a rather small tit, it certainly has character. Near the feeders, it can chase away much larger birds. It ferociously defends its nests, which it most often builds in nesting boxes or in tree hollows first cut by woodpeckers.
