Blackcap
Sylvia atricapilla
The blackcap is a black crown warbler in other words. Only males of this species have a black cap though. In females it is rust-coloured. It arrives in Poland in April and its beautiful singing can immediately be heard in the gardens; the singing includes squawking and creaky sounds by which those birds can be easily recognized. The birds form nests low in dense shrubs, where most often they can be spotted.
