White poplar
Populus alba
White poplar is a rapidly growing tree with white bark, similar to birch bark. The difference is due to dark projections that take the form of a rhomb. In autumn, the underside of the leaves of the poplar tree becomes silver in colour. The white poplar is a short-lived tree, but as it grows the fastest from all native trees, it can achieve impressive dimensions. The most impressive poplar tree in the Royal Łazienki Park has a circumference exceeding 7 meters.
