Fraxinus Excelsior
European ashes are large trees growing up to 40 meters in height. The ash tree in Łazienki is probably the oldest tree in our gardens (its age is estimated at about 200 years), and it is 34 meters high. It is characterized by narrow-ovoid leaves and flattened nuts, often remaining on branches until spring. Ash tree wood has many advantages; once it was used for building horse carriages, many tools, as well as spears and lances.
