Weeping golden willow
Salix xsepulcralis 'Chrysocoma'
The weeping willow, also known as the gravestone or mourning willow, is a hybrid of two species of willow. It is characterized by a picturesque habit and often used as an ornamental plant. Its long, pliable branches hang loosely almost to the very ground, making it look most beautifully on the banks of water reservoirs. It belongs to trees whose leaves appear at the earliest in spring and at the latest in fall. It also features a shallow but very wide root system, which can reach up to 20 meters.
