White pine
Pinus strobus
The names of the white pine, which originates from North America, is derived from the name of Lord Weymouth, a 17th-century English traveller. It has very thin, soft and long needles, reaching up to 10 cm, gather by 5 per twig. They are narrow and delicate, often covered with resin. The white pine rarely occurs in our forests, but it is frequently planted in parks.
