Red dead-nettle
Lamium purpureum
The red dead-nettle can flourish all year round and is a melliferous plant. Few pay attention to this species but, when taking a closer look, it appears as an extremely beautiful plant featuring two-lip flowers. The leaves of the red dead-nettle emanate a characteristic, sharp smell, while the seeds, which contain elaiosomes, are a treat to ants.
