Peacock butterfly

The peacock butterfly is a butterfly which is often recognised by visitors. The characteristic "peacock eyelets" on its wings do not leave visitor indifferent to that species. It’s a butterfly that winters as imago, that is in adult form in various slits and other hiding places to wake up in spring and decorate our gardens with its beautiful appearance. The underside of the wings of the peacock butterfly reminds of a withered leaf, which provides an excellent camouflage protecting against predators.
