Second term of office for the Director of the Royal Łazienki Museum
By decision of the Minister of Culture, professor Małgorzata Omilanowska, the contract of Director Tadeusz Zielniewicz has been extended for another term as Director of the Royal Łazienki Museum. The Revitalisation Programme implemented in the Royal Łazienki since 2010 have enabled investments of over 130 million zlotys so far.
According to the spokesman of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage, Maciej Babczyński: The Minister’s decision was influenced by a very positive assessment of the Director carried out on the basis of an analysis of achievements to date, in particular with respect to projects of conservation and restoration of historic buildings and the garden. It is worth stressing that the Revitalisation Programme implemented in the Royal Łazienki since 2010 have enabled investments of over 130 million zlotys so far.
As a result of efforts undertaken by Director Zielniewicz the Museum became member of the Network of European Royal Residences. At his initiative, the Research Centre and the Education Centre were established while the Art Centre expanded its activities. Only this year, after undergoing a complete restoration, the Palace on the Isle was opened and the Royal Sculpture Gallery was made available to the public in the Old Orangery.
At the initiative of Director Zielniewicz, cooperation was boosted as part of the Four Royal Residences Programme (whose members are the Wawel Castle, Wilanów Palace and the Royal Castle in Warsaw), and the Museum itself will be able to implement the strategic development plan drawn up by the Director in the highly valued “Royal Łazienki Museum Strategy for the years 2015-2020”.
