Italian Spinner and the adjacent painting, which depicts a kitchen interior, were painted by the Warsaw artist Amelia Lepige. These works are faithful copies of pieces by the French painter Hubert Robert (1733–1808), which formed part of King Stanisław August’s collection. In 1836, Lepige carefully executed her copies in strict accordance with the original designs, as part of her work on the restoration of the Royal Łazienki painting collection.
