‘Architecture of Challenges’ – international research conference

An international research conference under the title ‘Architecture of Challenges –  Materials for the Future’ was held with the participation of Polish and international experts. The event was organised by the Faculty of Architecture of the Warsaw University of Technology, the Royal Łazienki Museum, the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw and the National Institute of Architecture and Urban Planning.

The sessions in English language took place on 17 June 2024 at the Palace on the Isle in the Royal Łazienki Museum and on 18 June 2024 at the Czapski Palace (the seat of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw).

The aim of the conference was to explore achievements in the field of architecture and analyse the challenges that will have an impact on the future development of architecture, while taking into consideration a wider cultural context. The conference topics covered issues such as: man and the environment (biophilic building materials), aesthetics of architectural form in the context of innovative materials, intelligent materials, process economics (production of materials of the future, response to the challenges of civilisation (modern materials in architecture and urban planning).
