  • The Royal Łazienki Gardens reopened after the storm

    From 20 July the historic gardens of the Royal Łazienki Museum are partially open to visitors. Only the areas marked on the map above are available. For safety reasons, please move only within their boundaries and under no circumstances exceed the fences.

  • Exhibition ‘The Art of Thinking Well. The Legacy of Stanisław Herakliusz Lubomirski’

    The first exhibition on Stanisław Herakliusz Lubomirski will be held at the Royal Łazienki Museum from 26 April to 1 September 2024. The figure of this eminent writer and politician, one of the most colourful representatives of the Polish Baroque, is presented through a rich collection of artefacts originating from domestic and foreign collections, including exquisite paintings, puzzling drawings and old prints, unique vessels, as well as objects extracted straight from the crypt.

    The herstory of museology in Poland is the topic of an interdisciplinary academic conference that will take place on 8-9 October 2024 at the Royal Łazienki Museum. We invite representatives of various scientific disciplines to participate in a discussion about the role of women in the development of museums. The event is being held under the patronage of ICOM Polska.

  • Closed gardens of the Royal Łazienki

    For safety reasons, the historic gardens of the Royal Łazienki Museum will remain closed until further notice. The decision on this matter was made after consultation with the Masovian Provincial Conservator of Monuments and the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.

  • ‘Architecture of Challenges’ – international research conference

    An international research conference under the title ‘Architecture of Challenges –  Materials for the Future’ was held with the participation of Polish and international experts. The event was organised by the Faculty of Architecture of the Warsaw University of Technology, the Royal Łazienki Museum, the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw and the National Institute of Architecture and Urban Planning.

  • ‘Emotions of the Royal Łazienki Gardens’. Scientific conference

    The historic residential gardens of the Royal Łazienki are one of the most visited sites in Warsaw. What emotions do they evoke and how are they perceived? Their perception from many perspectives is the topic of an interdisciplinary scientific conference that will take place on 12-13 September 2024 at the Palace on the Isle. We invite representatives of various scientific disciplines to participate. The discussion panel has been expanded to include new issues.

  • Exhibition ‘Discovered Images. Photo Aesthetics of Count Benedykt Henryk Tyszkiewicz (1852–1935)’

    Nearly 200 original prints, extremely interesting for their photographic qualities, are displayed at the exhibition of the oeuvre of Benedict Henryk Tyszkiewicz, a Polish-Lithuanian aristocrat and photographer. The 19th-century works, which for years were considered lost, come from Lithuanian collections. The exhibition can be visited from 8 December 2023 to 10 March 2024 in the Kubicki Stables.

  • Exhibition ‘Mattia Preti. Discovering the Baroque Secrets of Malta’

    The work of Mattia Preti, an eminent Italian painter and frescoist of the Baroque period, continuator of Caravaggio style, will be presented from 20 October 2023 to 3 March 2024 at a temporary exhibition in the Officer Cadets School. The exhibition was organised jointly with the Embassy of Malta and the Maltese National Heritage Institute – Heritage Malta.

  • New paintings in the collections of the Royal Łazienki

    ‘Italian Cuisine’ and ‘Peasant’s Home Among the Ruins’ – two 19th-century works by painter Amelia Lepige have been added to the collections of the Royal Łazienki Museum. These are further valuable paintings which contribute to the restoration of the collection of Stanisław August, partly sold by his heirs or lost in the turmoil of war.

  • A royal portrait in the museum’s collection

    The portrait of Stanisław August in his coronation coat and armour, a unique representation of the monarch, has enriched the collection of the Royal Łazienki Museum. The purchase of the painting was made possible thanks to the funds from the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.
