Project ‘I inspire!’. Cooperation of Łazienki Królewskie and La Venaria Reale
Promotion of Polish culture in Italy, exchange of experiences and joint educational activities are the main assumptions of the ‘I inspire’ project, under which the Royal Łazienki Museum has been cooperating with La Venaria Reale in Turin in 2023-2024.
During the project, employees of the Royal Łazienki Museum shared their expertise with the museum employees of the Italian La Venaria Reale - a representative royal palace from the 17th century, inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Our experts presented, among others: pioneering solutions in the field of creative areas and museum educational activities. Examples included creative areas in the Old Guardhouse, such as ‘Painting’ or ‘Frida and Fridita’. These creative areas prove many years of experience and contribute to the development of permanent and temporary museum exhibitions. Moreover, new forms of use of cultural institutions’ offers are emerging. Guests of the Museum can use their time creatively and experience art through fun and relaxation. Creative areas are also venues for artistic and cultural activities.
La Venaria Reale employees saw the ‘Frida and Fridita’ creative area during a study visit to Warsaw. They also learned the principles of creating a creative area for museum exhibitions, as well as the history, collections and activities of the Royal Łazienki.
In Turin, employees of the Royal Łazienki Museum shared their conclusions about current models of museum education. They also participated in workshops and guided tours, and consulted educational materials for cultural institutions.
Good practices in creating creative areas for cultural institutions were collected in an e-book in Polish, English and Italian. The publication is available here:
E-BOOK ‘I INSPIRE! CREATIVE AREAS AT THE MUSEUM’
As part of the project, an Italian version of the book ‘Museum of Marvels’ was created, which promotes Polish culture abroad.
The project was implemented thanks to the funds of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage within the framework of the ‘Kultura inspirująca’ program; with the support of the Polish Institute in Rome.
